A purple Aeonium succulent plant from Bodnant Gardens in Wales, painted using watercolour markers. I used 5 markers to do the whole piece, starting with background leaves. I painted each petal separately and used a lot of 'backruns' on them, (clean drops of water onto still-wet paint and letting it spread/run). It is all marker and water, then washed about with synthetic brushes.
Leaves: 'Fern Green', 'Citrus' & 'Sunburst Yellow' markers.
Flower petals: Mostly 'Peacock Blue,' & 'Raspberry' with some of the markers mentioned above.
Aquamarkers & pencil on 190gsm Bockingford watercolour paper.
